Context and issue
A housing corporation is described by stakeholders as reliable and decent, however also as colourless. Moreover, the organisation has a difficult relationship with local aldermen and city council. The housing corporation is accused of having too little sympathy for their problems.
Approach
After meeting employees, we discover that there is a clear need for guidance within this horizontal organisation. Together with the project manager, we decide to found a project working group. This working group develops a clear vision on stakeholdermanagement, with one defined core message.
Result
Van Belang & Partners managed to transform the apparent weakness of the organisation, its colourlessness, into power: the organisation is viewed as a reliable partner in a region plagued by scandals, budget cuts and downsizing. We developed a straightforward stakeholdermanagement guideline for all employees. The adviser to the board now coordinates the stakeholdermanagement.
