With our society constantly changing, so are the ways that we communicate. Classical media are making way for online media, dialogue and interaction. Organisations see themselves no longer automatically in charge of the messages and communication that they send out. Communication is no longer about (passive) target groups, but about working with others. It means that communication professionals are more and more dealing with stakeholders, coalitions, alliances, cooperation partners and networks. Communication has become more than ever a continuous process, and an essential part of the functioning of every organization.
Evedien stresses that the added value of communications, works to its fullest when it is involved in all stages of policymaking. It can effectively contribute to analysing and understanding the environment, connect with relevant stakeholders, develop shared meanings, create an environment for collaboration and make employees more communicative.
With 18 years of experience, of which more than 10 years in the non-profit sector, Evedien is a communication strategist and organizer pur sang. Her work lies with organisations that make a difference, like Greenpeace, Youth Care Netherlands, Hivos and ActiZ.
In 2015 she started Evedien Tukkers Strategy and Communication. Being an independent consultant allows her to bring a fresh look to the organization at hand, and she uses her expertise with different organizational and communicational issues.
